I bought a cheap Asian chef's knife (this is NOT a cleaver, and shouldn’t be used as one) almost on a whim from a local Asian grocery and found that I liked it. When I spotted this, I ordered it to replace the cheaper one. It’s well-made, works fine and looks impressive in my knife block. Functionally, though, it doesn’t seem any different than one costing a third as much. To be fair, it was shipped VERY sharp, which is unusual, but sharpness is fleeting anyway—it has to be maintained on any blade. I’m not sorry to have this, but if you already have an Asian chef's knife, don’t expect this to be a giant leap forward.

Gave my mom as a present in Easter since she always struggled with cutting a whole chicken. She loved it. Good product
