Great watch for systems minded fitness freaks
I got this watch because I was looking for a way to boost my training and train smarter, as I tend to run myself into the ground with workouts. I’d tried the whoop strap (and found it to be completely inaccurate and awful) and a garmin fenix (had too many features for me/I found it hard to use) but they just weren’t a good fit. So far this watch is giving me exactly what I was looking for in terms of data, but is not for everyone:Pros:- very intuitive and easy to figure out how to use the watch- I wasn’t overwhelmed by menus and features- so far accurate enough for my needs-any wrist based monitor has its issues but so far I’ve found this one to be fairly on point- great tech and feature support available from polar- great for systems and analytical thinkers- if you love fitness and exercise phys data you will love this- has lots of features but strikes a good balance between just enough and not too much- great battery life so farCons:- screen is darker than I’d like and haven’t been able to figure out how to adjust- like any wrist based monitor, if it’s not secure enough on your wrist you won’t get great data- could be overwhelming for someone not educated in exercise and training data- not touch screen (but that’s not a bad thing)- strap can be a bit irritating to skin at first

Excellent tool for cardiovascular training
The sleep tracking is very helpful and has improved my sleep. Battery life is good. This is my third Polar device and is very useful (all three are but this one is more detailed). The app and the Polar flow site keep it all synced and the data is presented to facilitate training and development in many sports. Worth every penny. Helps to prevent overtraining as well. You won't fly blind when you use this while training.

1 Month of use, hard training. Love it.
Been using this watch for over a month now with pretty hard cardio load activities including multiple 5 mile runs, 10 mile bike rides, weight lifting and HIIT at Orange Theory. Compared the data during an OT session with the provided wrist HR monitor by Orange Theory and the data from the Polar watch were close to matching perfectly. The watch has a ton of features which are simply navigated on the watch face, but not too many features where it becomes a chore to figure out how to use, or find the info you care about. How the watch presents the accumulated data in its summaries is great and helpful, and the associated Polar Flow app allows the user to dig in deeper to the metrics they've recorded during a training session. When you Sync the watch to your computer you get even more data to look at in great visual presentations.During training (running) you can easily see your pace, time, distance and HR in a simple., clear easy to read display. Its great, I love it, dont need anything more advanced right now - this is satisfying my current needs.UPDATE: Just discovered you can customize each individual activity's display during an exercise. If you only want pace, you can create a screen with only pace displayed and have it in your lineup. Put as much or as little info on the watch face during the activity session. Pretty cool. You can really customize all the thresholds for any activity. A bit out of my league currently but for anyone whos data driven, its really great.

Not good
Only buy polar for chest strap. Watch is terrible. Consistently the HR is off by ~20 bpm

details
Polar gives you details which other watches lack... Certainly about sleep tracking and recovery. The ANS function (Stress measurement) in combination with my training comes in handy...

Fitness first, chotsky features not necessary
Watch is great! My only complaint is that the color I ordered is not what I received. This watch is a huge improvement from the m1. Comfortable and lightweight, they're are now widgets available (such as temp and music controls), I can now choose which widgets to display. These have added great use, unlike those chotsky features/profiles you get on a more expensive watch.Training metrics are slightly more in-depth (calories burned are now tracked according to % of fat/carbs/protein).Huge praise for this fitness focused GPS watch. I definitely want to use this for 90% of my workouts.

Some nice features but the heart rate sensor is useless
The heart rate sensor (or the software running it) is useless. Check out my data from a recent treadmill run during which I didn't change my pace at all (ie my heart rate definitely did not drop like this). It gives sorry data like this on at least 1/3 of my workouts. I expect this - or can at least tolerate it - for weight lifting sessions during which my wrists are constantly bending and my HR is erratic, but it's inexcusable for a ~$300 tracker during treadmill and spinning sessions when the tracker isn't even moving.Software is buggy and looks to be omitting random workouts in my fitness progression calculation.Sleep tracking and battery life are solid.Display is great.

Still a great Polar Watch
Got it as a replacement for my older Vantage M (more than 3½ years).Surprised that the watch firmware has change quite a bit. New display screen and features.Very satisfied with the new watch!

montre polar vantage
