Wild Game Sausage 4 Pack Sampler

I went ahead and purchased this product, partially due to wanting some summer sausage made from wild game, partially due to ironically a bad review (that complained about the shipping and packaging, but no mention of the product itself..said review looks to be gone now as an aside).Anyway, I am quite happy with the taste of what I have sampled so far, the antelope sausage. Very tasty, there is a unique savory flavor that I can't place (that I assume is due to being antelope, I've never had that before), the sausage is lightly spiced but far from "hot" so not overly so, and dense without being dried out. I may post an addendum as I try the others to see how I like them, but if I forget or decide not to, assume the other three meats are also of same quality albeit probably not the same flavor.Although packaging should be in the sellers review, I will mention this anyway and state that this isn't part of the 5 stars I give the product itself. The box was JUST large enough to include the four sausages, and taped with a lot of clear plastic packing tape, almost (but not quite) to the point of excess. Any more tape I would have had issues opening it, but I didn't with how they did tape it. For those wanting a simple gift box, none was included. But nothing was damaged inside, the box itself was quite sturdy. Short of stomping on or stabbing the box intentionally, I don't see how anything could be damaged in the box. I'd not ship something fragile they way they did, but meat sausages that don't need to be kept cold I would. So I had no issues with their packaging and thus gave them 5 stars for the seller feedback as well.

Substituted the Antelope with their Summer Sausage, when I inquired, I received the following response: Thank you for your recent order and I am happy to assist you. I apologize for the inconvenience and that you did not receive the item you intended. Due to the availability of certain meats and our strict quality control of our products our manufacture can run out of certain items which causes substitutions of like products in our 6oz summer sausage. This is why under the product description we always state *Product substitutions may occur for like products of equal or greater value without notice based on availability. Would have been nice to be notified of that regardless of the disclaimer as I was buying Wild Game Sausage, not 3/4 Wild Game and regular Summer Sausage. Won't buy again.

They substituted the Antelope for their regular summer sausage. When I inquired and asked for a remedy, they said "Thank you for your recent order and I am happy to assist you. Would have been nice to know I was getting run of the mill summer sausage I could buy at the local grocery store for half the price. Won't be buying again from these guys.

No where does it say these sausages contain beef - but if you zoom into the photos, you can see it clearly listed. Anyway, with beef as the second ingredient, you might as well save HALF the cost and buy beef sausage. The flavor? Like OK beef sausage. I do not recommend and for the cost, this was a very bad deal.

Not bad but just FYI its not 100% natural, it contains nitrites. I bought this for my mother in law and she doesnt care about that but I wouldnt buy it for myself.

These are cut with beef. They all pretty much taste the same. I'll buy beef in the future and save myself some money. That being said the product tastes like summer sausage. No problems on quality. They were shipped in a nice cloth pouch.

I thought that maybe because there were different types of meat in the sausage they would have different tastes, but they essentially all tasted the same, like summer sausage. And, they were mixed with beef, so it would be difficult to know just how the antelope would actually taste.

My friend ordered his and got it in one week from what he said. I ordered it Dec 10, 2013 and received it Dec 23, 2013. In fact, my friend ordered his second batch and he got it before me too. He lives in NY and I live in MN. Unacceptable. Turns out, the original manufacturer is just 35 minutes from me. I'll be ordering there from now on.Taste: They all taste sour when cooked and no significant taste when out of the package. I'm a hunter myself so I know the taste of a few of these. Antelope falls apart easily with heat in a pan.Worst of all, I got the wrong package. I got wild boar instead of Elk. The seller would probably reply saying why I didn't contact him first, but after taking so long for shipping, I don't want to deal with them any more. It took over a week for the seller to initiate the shipping. If you plan to be out of work for the holidays, you should state that on your website.
