ECX Ruckus 2wd Monster Truck: RTR (1:10 Scale), Charcoal/Silver

This truck is great!! For the price it cant be beat... its a lot like the Traxxas Stampede, only less expensive. The Spektrum D2XE radio that comes with this truck is far superior than radios that comes with most RTR vehicals. There are only two negatives with this truck but they were not surprises becused they are listed in the description. First off the 1800 mhA battery that comes with this truck only gives about 7-8 minutes of run time but that is an easy fix with buying a larger capacity battery. Second, it is a little under powered having a 15t brushed motor. For a beginner the power is perfect, it probably goes around 20-25 mph. These are the only negatives in my opinion but it doesnt loose any stars because I knew what I was getting by the description. This truck has a bunch of positives.. the 2amp charger is outstanding, it charges the stock battery in less than 90 minutes, the truck is super durable and everything needed to run comes in the box. I plan on upgrading to a brushless motor and buying a larger capacity and then it will be perfect. I have had several R/C trucks and buggies over the years and this one is one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with this truck... Buy it!!!

The truck is rugged and flies, but the battery life is fairly short lived before it has to be recharged. I'm looking into improved batteries to hopefully allow for a longer play tome/

they are not durable, its more like a toy

Unfortunately I've had nothing but trouble with this vehicle. It shipped quickly, it looks great, but it's a piece of junk. I have had it to somebody who specializes in RC vehicles four times now. Constantly having to replace something that goes bad on it. Just constantly one thing after another. First problem was after it was driven for about two minutes. I don't know all the terms for these parts, but something burnt out in less than two minutes. I would never ever ever buy this brand of RC truck ever again!

Wife got this for me for a quasi mid-life crisis err toy. Re entering the rc car game first time since the early 90's. (when I was a kid) This thing is fun, way better than they used to be. A few thoughts as I am re learning the technology. The 7.2 1800 battery it comes with is a POS, get a couple 8.4v 3000's for $20 each. I burned out the motor in a week because ecx has this thing geared wrong. It comes with a 18T pinion gear ( this is the gear that attached to the motor rod) that's way too top end of a gear and thus the motor burns out, get a 16 or 17T pinion ($5 each). That keeps the motor cooler and makes it easier to do cookies/burnouts ect...not as top end though. I replaced the burned out motor with a Traxxus Titan 12T, ($20) it's significantly faster than the Dyn 15T it came with. Just keep a finger on the motor (literally) every once in a while, make sure it does not get too hot. You're going to need to buy some back up plactic parts, when something goes this fast stuff is bound to break. The steering is lacking. Saying all that, I like it a lot, learning on it. I like that when I break something it's only $5 to fix it. I may plop a brushless in it if/when I feel smart enough to do it. But for now, the 12T traxxus titan motor in it is way fun.

This is a super good out of the box rc car. With a new battery and a shock upgrade this little car is ready for anything. Yes this car will break it is not bulletproof. But it doesn't cost an arm and a leg and its super fun, super rugged. With it being fully waterproof its super fun in the rain and puddles. Great car.

Everyone told me to get a Traxxas Stampede or I'd regret it. To me, and my 7 year old, the ECX Ruckus just looked so much better and after bashing around our neighborhood with it I'm super glad I chose it! If you're a first time RC virgin that isn't expecting a 1K Wraith performance from a sub $200 RTR kit this Monster will fulfill your craving and get you craving more free time to play with it.
